Music
5/11/20
Hello, Kindergarten students and parents. I am posting a link to a video about one of the most notable artists in Popular Music, Stevie Wonder. I have included close captioning/subtitles, and this may help you in terms of picking up information and understanding what is said (if they don’t appear, you can click on “cc” on the bottom strip of the video). I am also attaching a Stevie Wonder coloring page. For those of you who are feeling ambitious, I will include a puzzle worksheet that I gave to 2nd Graders: consider it optional. The video is over 12 minutes long, but all the answers to the worksheet are revealed by just after the 8-minute mark; you don’t have to watch the entire video. Best of luck!
Heineman- Stevie Wonder In 4 Letters Or Less Puzzle (2nd Grade)
Hello, Kindergarten students and parents! Here is a 1950s dance and a number from Rock and Roller Carl Perkins from the 1950s with which to try the routine. Practice the movements slowly at first and work on bringing it up to speed before performing it with Carl Perkins (the music is fast). If you begin the routine with the word “Sitting” in the recording, it will fit nicely with the music and “Sitting” will kick off your second time through the routine. You can come up with your own steps, or bounce back and forth from your right to left foot if you can’t come up with anything. Happy dancing!
