Daniel Webster Society Wins “School of the Tournament”

On Saturday, December 13, Garden School’s Debate Team, the Daniel Webster Society (DWS), competed against 23 teams from 6 other schools in the Big Apple Division of the New York Debate League and won the “School of the Tournament” award.

Garden, the newest member of the Big Apple Division, took 3 teams of three students each. Our nine speakers accounted for the following honors:

– 7 of the top 20 individual speaker honors (including 2 in the Top 5!)
– 3 Top Ten team finishes (again, 2 in the Top 5!)
– the overall “Team of the Tournament” honors!

We are extraordinarily proud of all DWS members; they took home more silverware than any of our other competitors.
